BRIDAL ALTERATIONS

Please feel free to call/email as soon as you find your dress, as appointments often fill quickly.

When should I schedule to bring my dress in?

As soon as you have your dress, you can bring it in for a consultation. During the consultation, we can  discuss  any design changes or fitting adjustments you would like. At the end of the consultation, you will receive an estimate and we will schedule  your first fitting.

The first fitting generally takes place 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding.

Fittings usually last no more than one hour. Before you leave, we will schedule your next fitting.

Each gown is different, but you can plan on attending no less than 2 (but often 3-4) fittings. Expect to attend your final fitting 7-10 days before the wedding.

What happens during a fitting?

Once you have the dress on, we can discuss the fit of dress and any design changes you’d like to make (things like adding sleeves, or a bustle). I’ll pin the dress to indicate where I’ll make the adjustments.

Things To Bring With You To All Fittings:

Shoes. It is important to bring the exact shoes you will be wearing. A hem will not be pinned without them. If the height of your shoes changes during the process, there will be additional charges.

Undergarments and shape wear. In most cases a bra is not necessary. Many gowns have built-in support, or there are things we can sew in (cups, boning) to get you where you need to be.

Accessories. This would be any additional items you plan on wearing. For example, bring a veil if you’d like to see how it falls with the train of the dress, or a necklace you’d like to make sure works with the neckline.

Can I bring someone with me?

Family and friends are welcome to attend any fitting. If there is someone who will be helping you get dressed on your wedding day, it’s helpful to bring them along to the final fitting so they can see how the bustle works.

How much will alterations cost?

During your  first fitting, you will receive a quote. Since every dress and every body is different, I am unable to provide an estimate prior to the first fitting. Payment is due at your final fitting when alterations are complete.
